What Happened?
On May 23, 2024, Panasonic announced the new camera 'Lumix S9'. Some of the sample images used during the announcement have become a topic of discussion. It was pointed out that the images posted on the official website were not taken with the 'Lumix S9', but were examples shot with equipment from other companies.

What Was the Issue?
The issue arose when Panasonic used images taken with other cameras as examples to explain the performance of the 'Lumix S9'. One image was taken with a Sony camera. If images meant to demonstrate camera performance are taken with products from other companies, it could mislead consumers and undermine the product's credibility.
Panasonic's Official Statement
After the issue came to light, Panasonic responded quickly.
In an official statement, the company acknowledged that 'some images were obtained from stock photo services, and the notice explaining this was unclear'. Panasonic promised to review the website content, emphasize sincerity towards customers, and strive to prevent recurrence.
Similar issues have been raised not only on the 'Lumix S9' product page but also on other product pages like 'Lumix S5'.
Differences with the U.S. Product Page
Interestingly, the U.S. version of the 'Lumix S9' product page used original images specifically shot for it. In contrast to the Japanese version, it is considered more reliable. It is speculated that this may be due to differences in regional marketing strategies.
