Creators who love photography share stories about their cameras. The existence of a 'beloved camera' reflects one's life views and values. In this series, we feature Hakuraku, a devoted user of the LUMIX GH5M2.
Hakuraku, who has been using Micro Four Thirds cameras for a long time, talks about the portability of the LUMIX GH5M2, maintaining motivation for everyday photography, and even the allure of full-frame cameras. Explore how passion for photography is born and what cameras can offer, delving into the charm of Micro Four Thirds.
LUMIX GH5M2 Basic Information
Equipped with a 20.33-megapixel 4/3 Live MOS sensor and the latest Venus Engine, it enables high-definition image expression. It supports C4K/4K 60p 10-bit recording, suitable for professional video production. With wireless live streaming capabilities, high-quality live streaming from outdoors is easily achievable. The 5-axis stabilization 'Dual I.S. 2' ensures stable images even when shooting handheld. Its dust and splash-proof design makes it suitable for harsh shooting environments. This camera is ideal for creators focusing on video shooting and live streaming.
Reasons for Continuing Photography
My first camera was an OLYMPUS EP5, a Micro Four Thirds camera recommended by a friend when I knew nothing. About 10 years later, I am still using Micro Four Thirds cameras.
Recently, while putting away a compact camera I started using after my child was born, I thought, 'Without this compactness, I might not have continued this hobby.'

Outstanding Portability
Do you carry your camera with you every day?
My job is a Shinto priest, serving daily at my family's shrine in northern Kyoto. I carry a typical business bag to work, but I always have the LUMIX GH5M2 inside, along with a 12-40mm (35mm equivalent 24-80) f2.8 zoom lens.
This extraordinary portability allows me to capture spontaneous moments and scenes I want to preserve at the shrine.

Motivation for Photography
The high portability mentioned earlier provides solutions to obstacles in photography. Without this 'gift,' I might not have continued my hobby of photography.
Is it raining? You can shoot while holding an umbrella!
With kids? It doesn't add to the luggage at all!
No tripod? No problem, you won't get blurry shots even handheld!
See? Don't you feel like taking photos now?

Aspiration for Full-Frame
Even if you mainly use Micro Four Thirds, you can't help but admire the detailed depiction and depth of full-frame cameras. I too once ventured into the world of full-frame with a Nikon D750. It was a great memory.
This aspiration has driven me to think about what I can achieve with my current equipment, sparking creativity and innovation in my photography. The telephoto capabilities of Micro Four Thirds have beautifully enriched my portfolio.

What Micro Four Thirds Can Do
I currently own six Micro Four Thirds lenses. If I tried to collect lenses for a full-frame system in the same way, my wife would surely leave me. But with Micro Four Thirds, I'm safe.
Moreover, with ultra-wide, macro, standard zoom, prime, and telephoto zoom lenses, there's virtually no blind spot! It expands creative possibilities at a lower cost.
