LK Samyang has announced the world's first optical exchangeable autofocus lens, the 'Remaster Slim 32mm F2.8'. This lens allows photographers to quickly switch between various focal lengths without carrying multiple lenses, while keeping the housing attached to the main body.

Currently, it is planned to be sold only in South Korea, with optical systems '28mm F3.5' and '21mm F3.5' scheduled for release in October. Here, we introduce the features of the 'Remaster Slim', which may become the new norm in the photography industry.

Features of the Optical Exchangeable Autofocus Lens

The 'Remaster Slim 32mm f/2.8' is the world's first optical exchangeable autofocus lens, allowing the exchange of optical units with focal lengths of 21mm, 28mm, and 32mm. It offers a minimum shooting distance of 18cm and a maximum magnification of 0.16x (in AF mode), delivering high performance even in close-up photography. The magnetic mount makes unit exchange easy, allowing instant changes to focal lengths suited to the scene.

Usability of the Product

The lens features a compact design with a total length of 20mm and a weight of 80g, yet it includes a custom AF/MF switch, offering excellent portability. It is compatible with Sony E-mount, making it versatile for a wide range of camera bodies.

Commitment to Image Quality

LK Samyang states that this product offers a genuine analog sensibility that sets it apart from images created by digital technology in smartphones. The commitment to maintaining the texture and detail unique to classical optical systems while incorporating the technology required for modern photography is evident.

Pre-orders have already sold out, with general sales planned for October. While sales outside of Korea are currently undecided, it is hoped to become a new choice for creators.
