FUJIFILM Corporation has announced a web metaverse for photography enthusiasts, 'House of Photography in Metaverse' (HoP in Metaverse). The launch date is February 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM, and it will be free of charge.
'HoP in Metaverse' features a new form of communication space where photography lovers can connect directly, including a digital camera showroom, gallery, and spaces for user interaction. This is FUJIFILM's first attempt at launching a web metaverse.
Expansion from Physical Stores to Web Metaverse
The company has previously operated direct photography stores such as 'House of Photography' and 'Wonder Photo Shop' worldwide, offering imaging-related products and services like the digital camera 'X/GFX series' and 'INSTAX'.
This time, by utilizing web metaverse technology, 'HoP in Metaverse' was developed to provide services equivalent to those of their physical stores, overcoming the constraints of distance and time to reach more users.
Metaverse Space in 'HoP in Metaverse'
'HoP in Metaverse' offers a metaverse space with five rooms: an entrance hall, X/GFX showroom, gallery, community area, and arena. Users can participate as avatars to gain information about imaging-related products and services, and join events such as photo seminars, new product launches, and online photo exhibitions.
Additionally, users can enjoy conversations with each other and consult with avatar concierges about products, experiencing interactive communication.
To log into 'HoP in Metaverse', a free registration with 'FUJIFILM Members' is required. Registered users can not only use the services provided in each room but also utilize the voice conversation feature.
