The 'photo poster project' has been conducted by cizucu across various locations since the end of last year. By simply submitting photos to cizucu, you can participate in the photo poster exhibition and meet new photographer friends.

This time, we interviewed the creator kotalun, who participated in the photo poster project.

Please introduce yourself!

I am kotalun, taking photos mainly at temples and shrines in Kyoto and Nara.
My journey began with collecting temple stamps, and the beautiful scenery I encountered inspired me to start photography. Starting photography allowed me to notice and appreciate the small things, bringing happiness into my life. My companion is the Nikon Z6Ⅲ.

What motivated you to participate?

I was filled with anxiety about whether my photos would be accepted, if they would attract interest, if I chose the right photos, what to talk about, and how to communicate.

However, I have always been interested in exhibitions and wanted to participate someday. I wanted to hear from other camera and photography enthusiasts and truly wanted many people to see my photos! So, I decided to take the plunge and participate.

How was your experience participating?

Being my first participation, I was nervous at first and couldn't even remember what I talked about regarding the photos.
However, as time passed, with the staff's kindness, I realized that sharing the same hobby makes it impossible not to connect! It was so much fun!!

The discussions about photos and cameras with other creators were fascinating, and I had a very meaningful time. I even got to create my own business card with my photos for the first time and exchanged them. I am grateful to cizucu for providing such a wonderful opportunity.

It was a warm and welcoming space, very comfortable to be in.

Why did you choose that particular photo?

The theme was 'warmth'. So, I chose this photo taken in Arashiyama during autumn.

Arashiyama is crowded with people. Escaping the hustle, I ventured deeper to Gio-ji Temple, a quiet and cozy place with few visitors.

There, I noticed a heart made of fallen red maple leaves on the moss, a moment that warmed my heart, as if hearing the temple staff's welcoming words. The small moss world, its fluffy texture, the different moss types depending on the location, the leaf veins of the maple, the vivid red and green colors—there were so many aspects I wanted to share, which is why I chose this photo.

Exhibition Work

For those hesitant to join the photo poster project

If you're like me and hesitant to take the first step, I encourage you to participate. When alone, the staff kindly approached and connected me with other creators, which was very reassuring.

Talking to others revealed that we were already connected on social media or had been following each other's work, leading to many delightful moments. The creators' photos sparked my imagination, inspiring me to explore new fields and encouraging me to take on exhibitions.

Participating in the poster exhibition has become a lifetime treasure for me. I urge you to muster the courage and take that step forward! It will be a wonderful experience!
