Creators who love photography share their stories with their cameras. The presence of a 'beloved camera' reflects each individual's life views and values. In this series, we feature Me.., who loves using the Nikon Z5.
After parting with a long-time companion, Me.. talks about the joy of shooting with the Nikon Z5. From snapshots to portraits, explore the expressive power unique to full-frame cameras and how to choose a camera that fits one's style.
Nikon Z5 Basic Information
Equipped with a 24.32-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, it achieves high image quality. The EXPEED 6 engine allows for clear high-sensitivity shooting. With 273-point hybrid AF, precise focusing is possible, and the built-in 5-axis image stabilization ensures stability even in handheld shooting. Despite being entry-level, it boasts professional-level depiction power, ideal for landscapes and portraits.
Parting with My Beloved Camera
For many years, I used only the D7000, but as a result of heavy use, errors gradually started appearing.
The decisive issue was the malfunction of the shutter button.

What to do next? I only had the D7000 in mind, so I was unaware of the current situation.
At that time, the era had shifted to full-frame and mirrorless cameras.

Encounter with the Z5
While researching for something similar to the D7000, the Nikon Z5 emerged as a candidate.

Upon handling it in-store, I realized that for my photography style, features like pixel count, burst speed, and various AF recognition systems were sufficient without the need for higher-end models, leading me to choose the Z5.

Since I only had APS-C dedicated lenses, I renewed my lens collection.
Based on examples, the conditions for lenses that match the Z5 include the allure of prime lenses, with differences in night shooting and bokeh due to the full-frame format.
The Feeling of Synchronization
After much consideration, I assembled a collection of SIGMA ART line prime lenses for each focal length.
The compatibility with these lenses is excellent, handling various genres from snapshots to table photos and portraits.

The Z5 is a mid-range model like the D7000, without unnecessary features, which in a way is part of its functionality, being user-friendly.
The absence of excess features allows for a familiar feeling that seems to synchronize between the user and the camera.

Photography... casual, casual, enjoy it while you can. If you can't get a good shot, it's okay to put the camera down. But when pressing the shutter, I'm dead serious. Developing photos while having a drink is pure bliss~.
