A compact full-frame mirrorless camera released in 2020. It features a back-illuminated CMOS sensor with approximately 24.2 megapixels, boasting a wide dynamic range and high sensitivity. The performance of the α7 series is condensed into a small and lightweight body, making it ideal for travel and snapshot photography.

It also includes high-precision autofocus functions (Eye AF and real-time tracking), allowing for both still images and 4K video recording. With a vari-angle LCD monitor and USB-C charging capability, its convenience is enhanced. It is a model supported by a wide range of creators, from professionals to beginners.

My encounter with my beloved SONY α7C was in April 2024. Until then, I had been using a PENTAX APS-C camera. Although I had always wanted to explore the world of full-frame photography since I started in 2013, the price barrier was high.

As days of hesitation continued, I finally made the decision as a reward to myself in March, a turning point in my life. With a burst of courage, I purchased my new beloved camera. Initially filled with anxiety, I began to communicate with my beloved camera.

Welcoming my first rainy season with the new camera, I attached a TTArtisan 100mm lens and captured raindrops and agapanthus, continuously photographing the many bokeh created on bright rainy evenings while wiping the rain.

Every time the camera captured that beautiful moment, I felt my anxiety gradually grow.

On the night of a fireworks festival canceled due to a thunderstorm, I headed towards Asakusa to photograph the rain with the Skytree in the background. I was moved by the streaks of raindrops, feeling as if the photos were alive.

Engaging in such free photography, I noticed dirt on the camera sensor, facing my first trouble. Blowing air was ineffective, so I rushed to a camera store.

Advised against changing lenses outdoors or shooting in the rain, I felt disheartened, but my desire to chase the rain remained unstoppable. In November, I ventured into the city on a rainy day to capture the reflections of the Marunouchi station building at Tokyo Station.

Today, my beloved SONY α7C continues to accompany me in my free-spirited photography, delivering dynamic images with its small body.

Its night photography editing capabilities and portable compact design are appealing, but the trust it provides in enabling free photography is the most reassuring. I hope it remains my beloved camera in the future.
