Panasonic has announced exciting news.

On May 23, 2024, the roadmap for interchangeable lenses of the LUMIX S series was updated, adding new lenses. The Panasonic S series is designed to allow even camera beginners to enjoy photography easily. Don't worry if you lack camera expertise. As a starting point for choosing a new camera, we introduce Panasonic's new product information this time.

Addition of New Lenses

The highlights of this roadmap update are the two lenses, "LUMIX S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3" and "LUMIX S 26mm F8." Particularly, the "26mm F8" is gaining attention alongside the newly announced "LUMIX S9."

The "LUMIX S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3" features a focal length of 18-40mm, a minimum shooting distance of 0.15m, and a filter diameter of 62mm. The exact release date is still unknown, but it is expected to be released around this fall.

Given that previous information about the "LUMIX S9" and "LUMIX S 26mm F8" was accurate, the information about the "18-40mm F4.5-6.3" is also considered reliable. The release date may vary due to global situations and supply conditions, but it is a product eagerly awaited.

The Appeal of S Lenses

S lenses, including the "LUMIX S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3," combine high optical performance with ease of use. The S series is characterized by its design, which is easy to use even for beginners. Combining it with LUMIX S series cameras broadens the range of expression.

Attention to the Announcement of S PRO Lenses

According to the roadmap, the release of the S PRO series is also planned.

Panasonic's S PRO lenses are created without compromise, adhering to LUMIX's strict standards from planning to design development and manufacturing. They excel in all aspects, including image performance, bokeh, three-dimensionality, and operability, and meet the stringent evaluation standards of Leica Camera AG. Therefore, they are also "Certified by LEICA."

We look forward to seeing how Panasonic's LUMIX S series, including the newly announced "LUMIX S series," will evolve in the future.
