cizucu Hosts 'Daily Moments' Award Announcement | Challenge #112

'Daily Moments' is a global online photo contest hosted by cizucu, open to any creator registered with cizucu. The contest curates outstanding works from submissions, aiming to discover new talents as a platform and support the community.

This time, the theme is 'Trivial Daily Life'.

With a camera in hand, you might notice trivial events that you would otherwise pass by. You stop and capture the moment. It might seem like an insignificant photo, but one day, it might become a cherished memory.

In the hustle and bustle of the city, on the familiar paths you walk every day, or in your beloved hometown, you captured those moments when you thought, 'Oh, that's nice.'

Kohara's Review
In this contest, where family and portrait photos stood out, this entry stood out with a still life photo. The title 'Summer Burst' is quite fitting. The sandals are not neatly aligned, suggesting a hurried departure. It seems like a casual shot, but the photographer's skill is evident in the composition, ensuring the dark shadow of the basket doesn't cover the white shoes in the foreground and excluding the tip of the long driftwood to emphasize the personal belongings as the main subject.

Kohara's Review
Is it a child? Did they discover something in the puddle under the horizontal bar? For nanako, this might be a familiar sight, but the photo captures a sense of quietness amidst the rain and cool tones. The equipment used was an iPhone 12. I also viewed other photos by nanako, including another taken on a rainy day. The iPhone 12's waterproof feature allows for worry-free shooting in the rain, but even so, not everyone would quickly pull out their iPhone and shoot in the rain while holding an umbrella. It shows a commitment to capturing moments regardless of the weather.

'Spring Window at Home, Daily Life'

Kohara's Review
The cherry tree visible through the square window creates a picturesque scene, but in the foreground, laundry and remote controls are scattered, adding a sense of lived-in reality. If I were to visit this location, I might move these items out of the frame. However, for those living here, this view is familiar, and they don't mind the cherry tree overlapping with the laundry. This strong sense of daily life contrasts pleasantly with the 'picture-perfect' location of the cherry tree seen through the window. The laundry, mostly in white and soft blues, complements the cherry blossom colors, showcasing the photographer's sense of style.
