Fujifilm has announced the Fujinon Lens XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II. The release date is mid-December 2024, and the price is open.
This lens is approximately 40% lighter than its predecessor, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR, with significantly improved imaging performance. It features a new 'Aperture Click Switch' for smoother video shooting, making it a flagship model with excellent focus speed and quietness. It offers high versatility for a wide range of shooting scenarios.
Significant Weight Reduction and High Imaging Performance
The XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II achieves significant compactness and lightweight design with dimensions of approximately φ78.3×95mm and a weight of about 410g compared to the previous model. This ensures comfortable operation even during long shooting sessions.
The lens configuration consists of 16 elements in 11 groups, utilizing aspherical and ED lenses to achieve high resolution and beautiful bokeh throughout the zoom range. The 'Aperture Click Switch' is particularly useful for smooth brightness adjustment during video shooting.

By turning off the 'Aperture Click Switch', the lens allows for smooth brightness changes during video shooting, enabling more natural video capture. It delivers high performance not only in still photography but also in video shooting.
