Creators who love photography share their stories with their cameras. Each 'beloved camera' reflects their individual perspectives and values. In this series, we feature Yuki, a devoted user of the FUJIFILM X-T4.
Gifted at the end of her maternity leave, she felt the slow AF and weak performance in low light, yet was captivated by its film-like colors and warm depiction, gently preserving everyday moments. Discover the charm of the X-T4 from the perspective of a 'Mom Photographer'.

FUJIFILM X-T4 Basic Information
The FUJIFILM X-T4 is a mirrorless camera from Fujifilm, equipped with an APS-C sensor. Featuring approximately 26.1 million pixels with the 'X-Trans CMOS 4' and a high-performance image processing engine 'X-Processor 4', it is known for its rich gradation and film-like color reproduction. It also includes in-body image stabilization (IBIS) with up to 6.5 stops of correction. The AF system combines contrast AF and phase-detection AF for fast and accurate focusing.
A Camera Life That Started with an Impulse Purchase
'My maternity leave is almost over...' At such a time, my husband gifted me this FUJIFILM X-T4.

Truth be told, I didn't know much about cameras, but seeing photos taken by a friend made me want this camera. It was an impulse buy without much research (laughs). But I have no regrets. Instead, I felt excited about learning more and looking forward to taking photos!
Falling in Love with Fujifilm's Colors
The most noticeable aspect after using this camera was the gentle colors of Fujifilm. I love the nostalgic, film-like atmosphere. My favorites are the 'Eterna' and 'Classic Negative' film simulations.

'Eterna' offers a soft, calm tone that gently envelops everyday moments with my daughter. Meanwhile, 'Classic Negative' gives a slightly retro feel, reminiscent of a scene from a movie.

'I want to gently preserve this moment.' This camera perfectly aligns with my desire.
Turning AF Slowness into Enjoyment
Honestly, I was worried about the slow AF and weak performance in low light before using it. For a 'Mom Photographer' who often captures children, quickly focusing on moving subjects is crucial.

However, after using it, I found it wasn't as bothersome as expected. In fact, I learned to enjoy slightly blurred photos as 'character'. Using burst mode and little tricks made shooting fun, and before I knew it, I was exclaiming, 'Fujifilm is the best!'
With My Beloved Camera
Though the AF is a bit slow, the image stabilization works well, and it can hold two SD cards, making it useful for both family photos and work. Above all, its classic look is just amazing!

Usually, I take photos of my daughter, but sometimes I ask my husband to capture moments of my daughter and me together. Seeing those photos allows me to reflect on how I spend time with her, which feels a bit surreal.
A camera is not just a tool.
For me, the FUJIFILM X-T4 is an irreplaceable companion that warmly preserves the days with my daughter.
