'Kamiarizuki' is the month when deities from all over Japan gather at Izumo Taisha, and it is only in the Izumo region that the usual 'Kannazuki' is called 'Kamiarizuki.' In 2024, this period is from November 10 to 17, during which Izumo Taisha exudes an even more solemn and sacred atmosphere.

About 1 km west of Izumo Taisha, at Inasa Beach, deities from across the nation are welcomed and gather under the deity 'Okuninushi no Okami,' known for matchmaking. During this period, three 'Kamiari-sai' meetings are held, believed to tie the bonds of happiness for people.

In the vicinity of Izumo Taisha, numerous motifs of 'rabbits' based on mythology can be seen. This is related to the legend of the 'White Rabbit of Inaba,' and rabbit statues are scattered throughout the shrine, providing a sense of peace to visitors.

When photographing, it is recommended to include these rabbit statues in the foreground to capture a photo that combines sacredness with cuteness. When paired with the shrine in the background, it creates an impressive image with a narrative quality.

Izumo Taisha is full of beautiful photography spots, including the 'Kaguraden,' which holds one of Japan's largest shimenawa, and the similarly large Japanese national flag.

Particularly, the main hall bathed in the soft morning light and the moss-covered approach are popular spots for capturing enchanting photos. By adjusting the light and composition, you can express the mystical side of Izumo Taisha by capturing its serene atmosphere.
