The Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, offers a view of Kiyotsu Gorge, one of Japan's three great gorges, from within the tunnel, akin to an art gallery. The "Aigi Tunnel," connecting Aichi and Gifu Prefectures, is part of the abandoned old JNR Chuo Line, now a special photography spot open seasonally. This tunnel group features a series of red brick arch tunnels built during the Meiji era, exuding a nostalgic atmosphere. Especially in autumn, the surrounding foliage colors the tunnels, creating captivating photos with the contrast of vibrant colors and the old-fashioned bricks.

The next special autumn opening is scheduled for 9 days from November 23 to December 1, 2024. Please note that entry is prohibited outside the special opening period.
