What is a Position?
Position refers to the height at which you hold the camera. There are three main types:
- High Position: Above eye level
- Horizontal Position (Eye Level): At eye level
- Low Position: Below eye level
Effects and Uses of Angles
High Angle
High angle shots, taken from above, provide an objective perspective and convey the overall feel of the subject. They are ideal for food photography or scenic views from observation decks. To emphasize the deliciousness of food, shoot at a 45-degree angle, and to show the entire table, shoot from directly above. When photographing landscapes or animals from a high angle, the face appears larger and the body smaller, enhancing cuteness.

Horizontal Angle
Horizontal angle shots, taken at the same height as the human eye, result in natural and stable photos. They are suitable for ID photos, animals, flowers, and product photography. When photographing children at a horizontal angle, the perspective is friendly and relatable, capturing everyday natural scenes.

Low Angle
Low angle shots, taken from below, emphasize the subject's imposing presence and strength. They are recommended for making people look cool. Additionally, photographing cars, bikes, or buildings from a low angle results in dynamic and impactful photos with the sky as the background. A movable monitor can be convenient when shooting from a low angle.
