This time, we introduce the uniquely intriguing AI device making waves internationally, the 'Poetry Camera'.
The 'Poetry Camera', which resembles a typical Polaroid camera in design, is astonishingly engineered to generate poetry from photos instead of capturing them.
The Story Behind the Development of the Poetry Writing Camera
The idea for the 'Poetry Camera' was conceived by developers Kelin Carolyn Zhang and Ryan Mather. Mather was captivated by the potential of AI while playing the additional video game 'Dungeons & Dragons'.

At one point, they came up with the idea, 'What if there was a camera that generated poetry instead of taking photos?' They aimed to create new art by expressing visual inspiration through text and started the project. This device explores a new relationship between visuals and words by creating poetry directly from photos.
The Process of AI Weaving Poetry
This camera is centered around a single-board computer called 'Raspberry Pi' and utilizes OpenAI's latest AI model 'GPT-4'. Photos taken by users become various visual information such as colors, shapes, prominent objects, and emotions conveyed by the photos, which the AI analyzes. Based on this analysis, the AI creates poetry in the format chosen by the user, ranging from haikus and sonnets to free verse.
Changing the Perception of Photo Media
Initially started from personal interest, the project is now considering commercialization due to online reactions. However, the development team values the 'Poetry Camera' as an 'art piece' rather than a 'product'. Therefore, they are considering limited production to maintain quality and creativity, avoiding mass production.

The new expression method offered by the 'Poetry Camera' may influence the perception and cultural significance of photo media, bringing new possibilities to our creativity. It is exciting to see how it will evolve and impact our culture in the future.
