Mission

The diversity of plants that have nurtured various forms of life is astonishingly rich and full of discoveries. Celebrating its 100th anniversary, the 'Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden' has been a place that continues to convey the charm and healing power of plants for a century. To commemorate the 100th anniversary, we are hosting two special photo contests. The theme of the first contest is 'Plant Diversity'. The purpose of this photo contest is to discover the intriguing and beautiful aspects that diversity brings. We invite you to submit works capturing flowers you find while walking around town, trees growing in your hometown park, birds, and other life forms coexisting with plants. Try to capture the various expressions of plants and their surrounding environment. Of course, you are also welcome to visit the 'Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden' and photograph the plants and birds you find there. We hope this contest will be a catalyst for you to visit the botanical garden. Please be sure to include the shooting location in the caption. We look forward to receiving many entries.
