Expanding the Possibilities of Filmmaking with New Additions to the ATHENA PRIME LENS Lineup | NiSi
NiSi Filters Japan has announced the addition of three new focal lengths—18mm, 40mm, and 135mm—to their cinema lens series 'ATHENA PRIME LENS'. The release date is April 5, 2024. Each lens is priced at 231,000 yen (including tax). A set of three lenses (18/40/135mm, with a dedicated case) is available for 605,000 yen (including tax).
With the already released 14mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm, the lineup has expanded to a total of eight lenses. A set of eight lenses is offered at 1,518,000 yen (including tax).
Soft Bokeh and Sharp Detail Rendering
The 'ATHENA PRIME LENS' series employs advanced low chromatic aberration technology and micro-contrast adjustment to enable soft bokeh and detailed reproduction. Additionally, changes in the angle of view during focusing are minimized.
The PL mount is equipped with a slot for inserting drop-in filters at the rear of the lens, allowing the use of rear screw-type filters. Furthermore, using NiSi's close-up lenses makes macro photography possible.
A New Lens Series with Convenience
The newly added series supports five types of mounts: Canon RF, Sony E, Fujifilm G, L, and PL mounts, with an image circle of φ46mm. The entire series features lenses with nearly identical weight and external dimensions, eliminating the need for readjustment when swapping lenses on a gimbal.
However, the 135mm lens is approximately 180g heavier than the others.
Additionally, the lens diameter and aperture ring position are standardized, allowing the use of common accessories such as filters and focus gears.
