Introducing the Nikon Z50II: A Creative Evolution in APS-C Mirrorless Cameras | Nikon
Nikon Corporation has announced the latest APS-C mirrorless camera, the Z50II. The release date is December 13, 2024, with pre-orders in Japan starting at 10 AM on November 12. The price is open, with an estimated market price for the body only at 145,200 yen (including tax).
This model is an evolution of the Z50, which debuted in 2019, featuring the latest EXPEED 7 image processing engine, improved autofocus accuracy, and subject detection capabilities. Additionally, a new 'Picture Control' button allows for easy adjustment of color and tone, appealing to a wide range of users from beginners to professionals.
Enhanced Autofocus Performance with EXPEED 7 and Diverse Subject Detection
The Z50II incorporates Nikon's latest EXPEED 7 engine, also used in full-frame models like the Z9, achieving high-precision autofocus that detects nine types of subjects. This allows for automatic recognition and quick focus on people, animals, vehicles, and more.
Additionally, it features a 'Pre-Capture' function that records images from one second before the shutter is pressed, supporting continuous shooting at up to approximately 30 frames per second.
Expand Your Creative Expression with the 'Picture Control' Button
The 'Picture Control' button, located on the top of the camera, is a new feature that allows for easy real-time adjustment of color and tone during shooting.
Furthermore, by accessing Nikon's cloud service, 'Nikon Imaging Cloud,' users can download presets created by Nikon and other creators to enhance their photography. This enhancement in creative features enables capturing photos that instantly reflect the desired atmosphere.
Enhanced Video Features - Supports High-Resolution 4K Shooting and Live Streaming
The Z50II is equipped with enhanced features for video shooting. It supports 4K UHD video recording oversampled from 5.6K, and includes a 'Product Review Mode' ideal for product reviews. Additionally, it supports a webcam function via USB connection, allowing for live streaming by simply connecting to a PC or smartphone.
This provides creators and influencers with an environment to smoothly produce video content.
