GIZMON LLC has announced the interchangeable lens 'GIZMON Vivilens'. The release date is June 14, 2024. The suggested retail price starts from 6,160 yen (including tax).
Lens Recreating Toy Camera Imagery
The Vivitar toy camera 'Ultra Wide & Slim' is a 35mm film camera known for its sharp results despite vignetting. The lens is made of plastic and weighs about 75g. Utilizing the ultra-wide-angle aspherical plastic lens used in the 'Ultra Wide & Slim', it has re-emerged as a prime lens for mirrorless cameras in the form of 'GIZMON Vivilens'.
Compatible mounts include Canon EF-M, Canon RF, Nikon 1, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Sony E, and Micro Four Thirds.
Lens Design Optimized for Mirrorless Cameras
The newly launched 'GIZMON Vivilens' leverages features of mirrorless cameras such as flash photography, AE function, and long exposure, which were not possible with the film compact camera 'Ultra Wide & Slim', while capturing stills and videos with the characteristic vignetting of toy cameras.
The focal length is 22mm in 35mm equivalent, with a fixed aperture of F11, and a minimum focusing distance of 1.5m. The body consists of a lens unit and a mount adapter, with metal used for the mount part. The external dimensions are 60×15mm (varying by mount), and the weight is approximately 46g.
