New 3D Imaging Lens Compatible with Apple Vision Pro

Canon has announced the lens 'RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL', capable of capturing 3D images 'Spatial Video' viewable on Apple's AR head-mounted display 'Apple Vision Pro'.

The 'RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL' is the first certified input device outside of Apple products to support 'Spatial Video' capture. When mounted on the EOS R7, it can capture everyday scenes with a natural angle of view of approximately 60°. It also features an AF mechanism, providing fast and accurate autofocus similar to standard RF lenses. The operation feels the same as regular RF lenses, making 3D imaging easy. The captured data can be converted into a spatial video format using the dedicated app 'EOS VR Utility', making it viewable on 'Apple Vision Pro'.

Collaboration between Apple Vision Pro and Canon
