Japan Weather Corporation has released the '2024 Cherry Blossom Bloom and Full Bloom Forecast (9th Edition)'. It is expected that cherry blossoms will bloom nationwide either on par with or earlier than usual. The announcement was made on March 21, 2024.

Bloom Begins in Gifu, Nagoya, Saga, and Kumamoto

According to the forecast, the earliest bloom nationwide is expected around March 20 in Gifu, Nagoya, Saga, and Kumamoto. Following this, Tokyo, Kofu, Kochi, Fukuoka, and Miyazaki are expected to bloom around March 22, with many regions in eastern and western Japan also beginning to see blossoms.

Full Bloom: Kochi First, Sapporo During Golden Week

The earliest full bloom is expected around March 30 in Kochi. Following this, Tokyo is expected to reach full bloom around March 29, with Nagoya, Wakayama, and Fukuoka around April 2. In Sapporo, where blooms are the latest nationwide, full bloom is expected around May 2, coinciding with the latter half of Golden Week.
