Apochromatic Lens with 21mm Focal Length "Leica Super-APO-Summicron-SL 21 f/2 ASPH." | Leica Camera
Leica Camera has announced the L-mount interchangeable lens "Leica Super-APO-Summicron-SL 21 f/2 ASPH." Scheduled for release in November 2023, priced at 825,000 yen (including tax).
This is the widest lens added to the Leica SL system's "APO-Summicron SL lenses." It has been part of the Leica SL system roadmap since the launch of the L-Mount Alliance in September 2018. It is the world's first apochromatic lens with a 21mm focal length designed for 35mm full-frame.
Uncompromising Image Performance
A high-performance wide-angle lens capable of capturing stills and videos with excellent optical performance. Its wide angle of view allows for dynamic imagery and delicate detail expression.
Continuing the legacy of Leica's APO lenses, it achieves exquisite contrast even in situations where ideal lighting is not available, allowing precise control over focus and bokeh, greatly expanding the possibilities of expression. Natural skin tones, smooth gradations, and sharp details down to the minutest parts are characteristics unique to Leica's APO lenses.
Lens Construction
Precisely designed with 11 groups and 14 elements (including 3 aspherical elements), it maximizes performance from the widest aperture. It features outstanding chromatic aberration correction, being the world's first 21mm APO lens designed for full-frame. Special anomalous partial dispersion glass is used in most lens elements to suppress chromatic aberration. This is achieved through cutting-edge manufacturing methods and skilled craftsmanship.
