Nikon Imaging Japan Inc. has announced the super telephoto prime lens 'NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S' compatible with full-frame/FX format mirrorless cameras using the 'Nikon Z mount'. The release is set for October 27, 2023, with an estimated price of 800,000 yen (including tax).
The 'NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S' belongs to the NIKKOR Z lens 'S-Line', combining compactness and lightweight with high optical performance.
By adopting a PF (Phase Fresnel) lens, it achieves compactness and lightweight while maintaining high image quality. The design keeps the total length at 278mm and shifts the lens's center of gravity closer to the body, making it less heavy to handle. This makes it ideal for panning shots in motorsports and handheld shooting of fast-moving subjects like birds.
