GoPro has officially unveiled the GoPro HERO12 Black, a powerful new model that is compact, highly durable, and suitable for professional use. Pre-orders are available from September 6, 2023, via the official online store (GoPro.com), with global in-store sales beginning September 13, 2023. The retail price is 62,800 yen (tax included).
Building on the performance of previous models, the redesigned power management system delivers up to twice the recording time. Capture stunning high dynamic range (HDR) video at industry-leading 5.3K and 4K resolutions. The camera also supports Bluetooth® audio devices such as Apple AirPods, and features the advanced HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization.
Newly Added HDR Capture Functionality
The core specifications—including the built-in processor, sensor size, and body dimensions—are inherited from the HERO11 Black, allowing for 10-bit recording at 5.3K60fps or 4K120fps. Newly introduced features include HDR video at 5.3K and 4K, 27MP HDR stills, and GP-Log with LUT color grading support. The image stabilization system has also evolved to HyperSmooth 6.0.

Twice the Battery Efficiency
The battery management system has been overhauled to improve power efficiency, enabling up to twice the continuous shooting time compared to previous models. With HyperSmooth 6.0, recording at 5.3K/60fps has increased from 35 to 70 minutes, and at 4K/120fps from 28 to 58 minutes—a significant improvement.

Equipped with Enduro battery
Additionally, the camera itself now supports Bluetooth audio connectivity, enabling monitoring and microphone recording support. Up to four devices can be connected simultaneously.

Max Lens Mod 2.0
The external Max Lens Mod 2.0, designed for ultra-wide-angle capture, has also been updated, offering a 177-degree field of view at 4K60fps. Please note, the Max Lens Mod 2.0 is exclusive to the HERO12 and is not compatible with earlier models.
