DJI JAPAN Co., Ltd. has announced the powerful new product 'DJI Air 3', which joins the Air series with two main cameras. Sales start on July 25, 2023, with prices starting from 129,800 yen (tax included).

The evolved all-in-one drone features two cameras, both capable of capturing 48MP photos and 4K/60fps HDR videos, allowing for high-quality imaging with clear details. With a maximum flight time of 46 minutes, omnidirectional obstacle sensing[2], and the O4 HD video transmission system, it offers flagship-level features that inspire the creativity of more aerial photography enthusiasts.

Enhanced Imagery with Dual Cameras

Weighing only 720g, the lightweight and compact body houses a wide-angle camera and a mid-telephoto camera with 3x zoom, both featuring a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor. Despite having the same sensor size, the two cameras have different focal lengths, allowing for diverse visual expressions while maintaining the same level of image quality.

Both cameras support dual native ISO and can directly output 4K/60fps HDR video at high frame rates, covering video specs up to 4K/100fps. For the first time in the Air series, it supports 2.7K vertical shooting (9:16), making it easy to quickly share videos on social media.

Safe Takeoff and Landing with Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing and O4 Video Transmission

For the first time in the Air series, omnidirectional obstacle sensing is featured. Equipped with fisheye lenses on the front and rear, it supports detection in all directions, including front, back, left, right, and above, with binocular lenses and a 3D ToF sensor on the bottom for powerful omnidirectional obstacle sensing.

When obstacles are detected, APAS 5.0 is used to actively and smoothly avoid and bypass them, allowing for a high-quality flight experience without interrupting shooting. With the ActiveTrack feature, automatic flight is possible with simple operations, and when combined with Advanced RTH, the drone can safely return to the home point.

The next-generation O4 video transmission system not only achieves a maximum transmission distance of 20 km but also improves transmission stability, avoiding live view stutter and ensuring safe flight. It supports live video up to 1080p/60fps with high frame rates, allowing for smooth live video viewing.

Intelligent Features

FocusTrack Compatible with Both Cameras

The FocusTrack feature, consisting of Spotlight 2.0, ActiveTrack 5.0, and Point of Interest 3.0, keeps the subject centered in the frame. Using the mid-telephoto camera with 3x zoom, it is possible to capture subjects with a unique compression effect, making them stand out as if in a movie.

QuickShots

Creative camera movements such as Rocket, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Boomerang, and Asteroid are available.

2.7K Vertical Shooting

Both cameras support 2.7K vertical shooting. The wide-angle camera captures images with a wide field of view and rich visual information, while the mid-telephoto camera boldly captures subjects, resulting in impressive vertical aerial footage. The 2.7K footage shot vertically can be shared on social media immediately, with no need for post-editing like cropping.

MasterShots

Automatically captures multiple clips with various camera movements, edits the footage, and adds music, allowing for quick and easy creation of cinematic videos.

Night Mode

With noise reduction algorithms, it is possible to shoot noise-free footage at up to 4K/30fps even in low-light environments.

Hyperlapse

Choose from four modes: Free, Circle, Course Lock, and Waypoint, to capture time-lapse footage. (Horizontal: up to 4K, Vertical: up to 2.7K)

Slow Motion

Choose between 4K/100fps or 1080p/100fps to capture 4x slow-motion videos directly.

SmartPhoto 3.0

In single-shot mode, the 'DJI Air 3' uses SmartPhoto 3.0 by default, automatically selecting from HDR, HyperLight, and scene recognition according to the shooting scenario to capture the best aerial photos. The HDR DNG format 11 utilizes built-in contrast enhancement technology to record a wider dynamic range.

QuickTransfer

Quickly and easily download photos and videos wirelessly from the aircraft to your smartphone.

Waypoint Flight

For the first time in the Air series, this feature is supported. By planning the flight route and shooting actions in advance, complex camera movements can be executed automatically, allowing for one-take shooting. Additionally, by saving the flight route, it is possible to execute the exact same camera movements at a different time or day, capturing unique long-term time-lapse footage of transitions from day to night or seasonal changes.
