Oriental Hobby Co., Ltd. has announced an aluminum hood with a built-in protective filter and a thumb grip exclusively for the high-end compact digital cameras 'RICOH GR III' and 'RICOH GR IIIx'. The release date is March 8, 2024. The price for the GR III exclusive | GR IIIX exclusive aluminum hood with built-in protective filter is 15,400 yen (tax included). The thumb grip is 8,250 yen (tax included).
Introduction of Swedish-Made Accessories
Both products are supervised by Stockholm-based photographer Thomas Mansell. They are camera accessories planned by the Swedish company Squarehood and imported.

The main feature is an aluminum hood with an integrated protector to prevent dust intrusion while protecting the camera. It is available in two versions for the GR III and GR IIIx, each compatible with their respective cameras.
The hood attaches via a bayonet mount, making it easy to install. However, due to its tendency to loosen, reinforcement with masking tape is recommended. A hood cap is also included.
