Creators who love photography share stories about their cameras. The presence of a 'beloved camera' reflects each person's life and values. In this series, Masato, who uses the Leica M10-D, makes an appearance.
The M10-D, while digital, evokes nostalgia and pursues an essential shooting experience. The reason Masato confidently states, 'This is all I need,' lies in his encounter with a camera that makes him reconsider the act of 'taking photos.'

Leica M10-D Basic Information
The Leica M10-D is an extremely minimal digital rangefinder camera with no LCD monitor. Its design features elements reminiscent of analog cameras, such as a thumb rest like a film advance lever and a rear dial resembling an ISO indicator.
Equipped with a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor and a rangefinder mechanism that inherits the M tradition, it directly reflects the photographer's sensibility. While Wi-Fi connectivity allows image review and operation via smartphone, its true value lies in its streamlined controls.
Inspiration Brought by Equipment to the Photographer
Having used various cameras, the one I now believe to be 'ultimate' is the Leica M10-D.
A camera that boldly discards the functions expected in digital cameras. Its appearance and operation feel like a film camera, with a thumb rest like a film advance lever and a rear dial reminiscent of an ISO indicator, evoking nostalgia for analog cameras.

It may seem like mere nostalgia, but I believe the refined controls of the M10-D are the culmination of the Leica M's history.
Reminding Us of the Essence of 'Taking Photos'
The joy of a rangefinder lies in looking through a clear viewfinder, seeing a scene no different from what the naked eye sees, and pressing the shutter.

Considering how the subject is depicted, taking into account lens characteristics and lighting conditions, expanding imagination, and pressing the shutter. This process is unchanged from the film era and delves into the essence of taking photos.
Everything About the Act of Shooting is 'Comfortable'
While the convenience of digital, allowing immediate review, is sometimes indispensable, it is not necessary for my shooting pace.

Rather, the simple and beautiful body without an LCD provides a satisfaction not felt with other models. Such a stylish camera naturally becomes something you want to carry daily. The M10-D becomes an extension of my eyes and hands, allowing me to capture shutter opportunities encountered on the go.

This is All I Need
After shooting, I import the photos taken with the M10-D to my PC and develop them. The scenes I captured appear fresh and radiant on the monitor, much like viewing developed film.

A camera that allows you to enjoy the depiction brought by unique lenses even more. That is what the M10-D feels like. I no longer need other cameras. This is all I need. It is a camera I genuinely feel this way about.
