Preparation and Conditions for Sea of Clouds Photography
Seas of clouds are more likely to occur in the early morning with large temperature differences and radiative cooling, especially in mountainous or basin areas. When deciding on a shooting day, aim for days with high humidity and significant temperature differences from the previous day.

Check the weather forecast and look for days when nighttime cooling is expected or when clear skies continue. Also, since the temperature on site can be very low, ensure you have high-insulation cold-weather gear and lens condensation prevention measures ready.
Suitable Equipment and Camera Settings for Photography
To capture the expanse of the sea of clouds, a standard zoom lens of 24–70mm is useful, but if you want to emphasize the three-dimensionality of distant mountains and clouds, a telephoto lens of 70–200mm is recommended.

Do not forget to prepare a tripod and a release to prevent camera shake, and set the exposure manually, slightly underexposing to emphasize the three-dimensionality of the sea of clouds.
Dramatically Capture Seas of Clouds with Light and Composition
The most beautiful moment in sea of clouds photography is when the golden light of sunrise shines through. Capturing the shutter at this timing allows the clouds to be enveloped in light, creating an enchanting landscape. Persistence at the shooting site is also important. By waiting for the morning fog to clear, you increase your chances of capturing a breathtaking moment.
