Ricoh Imaging Company, Ltd. has announced the waterproof compact digital camera 'WG-90' as a new product under the PENTAX brand. It supports underwater photography at depths of up to 14 meters and macro photography, featuring a design suitable for tough environments. The release date is early December 2023, priced at 72,600 yen (tax included).
The 'WG-90' is equipped with high waterproof performance supporting depths up to 14 meters, shock resistance from drops (up to 1.6 meters), cold resistance (down to -10 degrees Celsius), and a load-bearing structure up to 100kg. As the successor to the 'WG-80', it inherits basic shooting capabilities.
It offers a variety of features, including a 'Digital Microscope' mode, with six LED auxiliary lights around the lens. It has an effective sensor of approximately 16 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, and about 7.2x digital zoom, with video recording supported at full HD size at 30fps. Additionally, it includes an underwater 'Mermaid' mode and image stabilization features.
