RICOH Imaging Company, Ltd. announced the new digital camera 'RICOH G900 II', which excels in waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, and chemical-resistant features, on August 8, 2024. The expected release date is August 30, 2024, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 128,000 yen (excluding tax).

This model is designed for use in harsh environments such as construction, disaster, and medical fields, and supports the digital blackboard integration function and tamper detection function of the Japan Construction Management Software Industry Association (J-COMSIA). It combines the tough performance required for professional use with high operability.

High Durability and Waterproof Performance for Harsh Environments

The 'RICOH G900 II' adopts a highly airtight body structure, achieving waterproof performance that withstands continuous use for 2 hours at a depth of 20 meters (JIS protection grade 8, equivalent to IPX8). Additionally, it is equipped with reinforced protective glass on the front of the lens, providing drop impact resistance from 2.1 meters, dustproof performance (JIS protection grade 6, compliant with IP6X), cold resistance, and load-bearing structure, making it safe to use even in harsh field environments. It also offers chemical resistance, withstanding disinfection with ethanol and sodium hypochlorite.

Improved Work Efficiency with Digital Blackboard Integration

The new 'RICOH G900 II' supports the digital blackboard information integration function and tamper detection function proposed by J-COMSIA. By digitizing the conventional method of simultaneously photographing a blackboard with construction names and types, it improves work efficiency and prevents tampering. Compared to traditional blackboard photography, it significantly improves efficiency in the preparation and management of construction photos, allowing for smoother on-site photography.

High-Quality Webcam Function for Online Communication

The 'RICOH G900 II' is equipped with a high-quality webcam function, providing high-definition images at Full HD, 30fps when connected to a PC. It allows for close-up photography up to approximately 1 cm, with the built-in ring light illuminating small parts brightly during shooting. This function enables clear communication of detailed information in online meetings and presentations. Additionally, it features an LCD monitor with excellent outdoor visibility and a variety of shooting functions, accommodating various shooting scenes.

Furthermore, it includes a camera lock function, allowing operation restrictions by selecting items such as 'Camera Operation', 'Menu Selection', 'Internal Memory Playback', and 'USB Connection', enhancing security performance.
