Focus Workshop Co., Ltd. has announced the 7Artisans interchangeable lens '7Artisans 85mm F1.8 AF'. The release date is August 2, 2024. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 63,800 yen (including tax).
The product is said to replicate the classic lens hood '12504'. It uses brass as the material, resulting in a high-quality and luxurious finish.
Mid-Telephoto Lens for Portraits
The '7Artisans 85mm F1.8 AF' is a large-aperture mid-telephoto lens compatible with full-frame sensors. With a lens configuration of 7 groups and 10 elements, including ED and high-refractive lenses, it delivers sharp and excellent image quality from the center to the edges.
The bright aperture of F1.8 and the 85mm focal length create a beautiful bokeh effect that highlights the subject, and it prevents noise and camera shake in low-light environments such as at night or indoors. It excels in portrait photography with superior depiction capabilities.
AF-Compatible Lens with High Operability
The autofocus operates smoothly thanks to the STM (stepping motor). It is also excellent in quietness, making it useful for video shooting. Additionally, it supports face detection, eye AF, and various subject detections, capturing the expressions and movements of subjects clearly.
Furthermore, the aperture ring adopts a stepless design without clicks, allowing video shooting without worrying about noise or shake. By setting the Fn custom button on the lens barrel from the camera body, various functions can be quickly accessed.
The lens mount is equipped with a USB Type-C port, allowing firmware updates by connecting to a PC.
