Sigma Corporation has released the interchangeable lens 'SIGMA 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN | Art'. The announcement date is June 20, 2024. The price is open. Direct sales price is 247,500 yen (including tax).
This is the world's first interchangeable zoom lens for 35mm full-frame sensors with a constant aperture of F1.8. Available for Sony E-mount and L-mount. It combines the advanced production technology of Sigma's Aizu factory.
Achieving Exceptional Image Quality and Bokeh
The lens configuration consists of 15 groups and 18 elements (including 5 SLD and 3 aspherical lenses), thoroughly correcting aberrations across the zoom range to achieve image quality that surpasses prime lenses. The constant F1.8 aperture allows for beautiful bokeh similar to that of prime lenses.
Additionally, the lens features Nano Porous Coating and Multi-Layer Coating to minimize flare and ghosting. Focus breathing is also suppressed across the entire zoom range.
Superior Operability and Robustness
The minimum focusing distance is 30cm throughout the zoom range. It adopts an inner zoom mechanism, improving handling during handheld shooting and stability when set up on a tripod or gimbal. The AF drive uses a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), and the 'by-wire focus ring' eliminates mechanical linkage between the focus ring and the focus drive, allowing for delicate focus operations.
The lens barrel is equipped with a dust- and splash-proof structure, and the front lens surface has a water- and oil-repellent coating. Additionally, a petal-shaped hood with a lock mechanism is included.
