Nikon has announced the mirrorless camera 'Z6III'. The expected release date is July 12, 2024, with a retail price of 435,600 yen (including tax).
Mid-Range Model with World-First Stacked CMOS Sensor
The 'Z6III' features the world's first stacked CMOS sensor, inheriting flagship performance from models like the Z9 and Z8. Positioned as the successor to the 'Z6II', it boasts approximately 24.5 million effective pixels in the Nikon FX format. The ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 100 to 64000, with extended options down to ISO 50 and up to ISO 204800.

Impressive High-Speed Data Processing and Image Engine
Thanks to the stacked CMOS sensor, the image sensor readout speed is approximately 3.5 times faster than the 'Z6II'. Combined with the 'EXPEED 7' image engine, it enables about 10 times faster data processing than the 'Z6II'. This allows for high-speed continuous shooting at up to 120 frames per second, 240p video recording in FHD, and 6K/60p N-RAW video recording in-camera, with reduced rolling shutter distortion.
High-Brightness EVF and Versatile Subject Detection
The EVF refresh rate has been improved, featuring the brightest EVF in the 'Z series' at 4,000cd/m². It includes subject detection, 3D-tracking, and custom wide-area AF, capable of detecting people, dogs, cats, birds, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and trains. The in-body vibration reduction (VR) achieves 8 stops, and 'Focus Point VR' minimizes blurring of subjects at the edges of the frame. Additionally, it supports 'Pixel Shift' shooting, creating high-resolution images of approximately 96 million pixels.
