COSINA has announced the Voigtländer interchangeable lens 'COLOR-SKOPAR 50mm F2.2'. The release date is July 2024, with a suggested retail price of 82,500 yen (including tax). Available in two colors: silver and black.
Voigtländer's New 50mm Prime Lens Focused on Compactness
A new MF prime lens with a Leica M compatible VM mount is here. This model, with a focal length of '50mm', is designed with a focus on compactness. By setting the maximum aperture to F2.2, the total length is kept to 30.0mm while still delivering high optical performance. It offers excellent optical performance from the maximum aperture and is a lens with outstanding mobility.
Design Balancing High Performance and Usability
The silver lens configuration consists of 6 groups and 7 elements, using three anomalous partial dispersion glass elements. It has 10 aperture blades with a minimum aperture of F16 and a filter diameter of 39mm. The rangefinder coupling mechanism supports up to 0.7m, and the helicoid extension allows a minimum shooting distance of 0.5m. The focusing lever is shaped for easy grip, ensuring high operability despite the compact total length. The focus ring is equipped with knurling.
External dimensions are φ51.4×30.0mm, and it weighs 135g. A dedicated hood is included with the all-metal barrel.
