The 'SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II｜Art' is a flagship lens that incorporates cutting-edge technology in every step from design to production. Positioned as the successor to the 'SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art' released in December 2019, it improves image quality and functionality while achieving approximately 7% reduction in volume and 10% reduction in weight.

The lens construction consists of 19 elements in 15 groups, using 6 FLD, 2 SLD, and 5 aspherical lenses to thoroughly suppress aberrations across the entire zoom range. Additionally, Nano Porous Coating and Multi-Layer Coating are applied to control flare and ghosting to the extreme. Focus breathing due to focus shift is also suppressed throughout the zoom range.

The new flagship lens includes an aperture ring, which was not present in previous models, and features an aperture ring click switch and an aperture ring lock switch. Additionally, the number of AFL buttons has increased to two, making vertical operation easier. The lens body uses metal parts, and the internal structure is designed to be robust, making it a tool that can be trusted for long-term use despite its compact and lightweight design.

The AF drive uses a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), which is more than three times faster than previous models. The product also includes a petal-shaped hood with a lock mechanism.
