Nikon has released the latest firmware for the Z mount interchangeable lens 'NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR'. The announcement date is May 29, 2024. The version is Ver.1.01.
Correction of Infinity Focus Issue
The latest firmware update (Ver.1.01) addresses an issue where the infinity focus becomes soft at focal lengths around 400mm to 600mm in cold environments. The update can be performed via Z series cameras or at Nikon service centers. It is expected to provide a more stable shooting experience than before.

The 'NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR' is a super telephoto zoom lens released in August 2023. It features a 5.5-stop vibration reduction mechanism (VR) and an internal zoom mechanism that prevents the barrel length from changing during zooming, enhancing usability. It is also compatible with teleconverters 'TC-1.4x' and 'TC-2.0x' (both sold separately), allowing the focal length at the telephoto end to be extended to 840mm/1200mm, accommodating a wide range of shooting scenes.
