Highlight of NAB 2024: High-Speed CFexpress Memory Card and Envoy SSD Announced | OWC
Other World Computing, Inc. (OWC) plans to release the 'Atlas Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A Memory Card' and the portable 'Envoy SSD'. The announcement date is April 11, 2024.
Both products will be showcased at the NAB 2024 (National Association of Broadcasters) event, opening on April 13, 2024, in Las Vegas, USA.
Introducing the Fast Transfer CFexpress Type A Memory Card
OWC has announced the industry's first CFexpress Type A memory card.
The new product is available in two capacities, 480GB and 960GB, and complies with the latest CFexpress 4.0 standard. This results in more than double the transfer speed compared to previous CFexpress 2.0 products.
Additionally, an adapter that allows Type A memory cards to be used in Type B memory card slots was also announced.
OWC further showcased a Type B card reader compatible with CFexpress 4.0 at CP+2024. The 'USB4 Atlas CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card Reader' is available for pre-order on Amazon.co.jp, but currently in a 'waiting for stock' status.
High-Speed Portable SSD from the Envoy Series
A new external SSD from the Envoy series has also been introduced. This model supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 and offers 1TB and 2TB capacity options. It boasts an impressive continuous read/write speed of 1,000MB/s and ensures broad compatibility with PCs, cameras, and mobile devices using the included USB cable.
Expected to meet the needs of users requiring high-speed data transfer, it serves as a lightweight and portable SSD.
