ProGrade Digital Inc. adds the GOLD series to the CFexpress 2.0 Type A card lineup. The release date is April 5, 2024. Prices are 42,900 yen for 240GB and 74,800 yen for 480GB, both including tax, aligned with the company's global pricing.

CFexpress cards are one of the latest memory card standards enabling high-speed data transfer. They are particularly designed for use in high-performance professional cameras and video cameras, featuring extremely fast read and write speeds. Developed as a successor to existing CompactFlash (CF) cards, CFexpress cards offer compact size, large data storage capacity, and high-speed access.

High-Speed Data Transfer with the GOLD Series

The new model is fully compliant with the CFexpress 2.0 standard, based on PCIe Gen3 X1. It offers a maximum transfer speed of 900MB/s for reading and 800MB/s for writing, with a sustained write speed of 600MB/s. By adopting TLC flash memory and complying with VPG200, it enables high-quality video recording in 4K and 8K.

Maintain Performance with 'Refresh Pro'

Additionally, it supports the utility software 'Refresh Pro' provided by the company. 'Refresh Pro' software allows for memory card lifespan diagnostics, speed performance recovery, and firmware updates. It can be used in combination with the dedicated card reader 'PG09', marking the first time CFexpress Type A cards are compatible with Refresh Pro.

With the launch of the GOLD series, production of the COBALT series CFexpress 2.0 Type A cards (160GB) will be discontinued.
