Ricoh Imaging Company announced that the PENTAX brand's 'Film Camera Project' has entered the development phase towards commercialization. The announcement date is March 1, 2024.
Overcoming Development Challenges, Progressing Towards Product Launch
Overcoming numerous challenges related to the procurement of specialized parts necessary for film camera manufacturing, technology inheritance, and the state of film and development labs, it was announced that a film camera suitable for modern times can be developed. The release is planned for around summer 2024.
Following the CP+ 2024 event, the outline of the product in development was revealed. A new YouTube video featuring Mr. TKO from the PENTAX team was released on the project page, detailing the main specifications of the new product.
