Kana deeply understands the joy of connecting with the world through photography. Her journey began with Instagram, which has now become the core of her life. Kana, who says she loves photography more than three meals a day, always has photography in her heart.
The Joy of Sharing a Memory
"At first, I was just satisfied with looking at photos I liked. But eventually, I wanted to capture those moments myself." This simple discovery marked the beginning of Kana's love for photography.
Initially, she was content just admiring photos she liked, but soon she discovered the joy of taking and posting her own photos.

"When I got my hands on the mirrorless OLYMPUS PEN, it was like a door to a new world opened," Kana says. Walking through the city, capturing scenes that catch her eye at moments that move her heart brings her joy. However, her curiosity did not stop there.

Her interest in film cameras blossomed, and vintage mechanical cameras like the PENTAX SV, FUJICA ST801, NIKON FM2, and OLYMPUS PEN FT joined her journey as "companions."
The tension before pressing the shutter, the excitement until the photos are developed, and the happiness upon seeing the results are deeply cherished by Kana.
Capturing the Present Moment
"Feel this moment with your whole body and take photos with all your might," Kana always keeps this feeling in mind when shooting. Places may change upon revisiting, and the same light may not illuminate them again.
Amidst this, she values each moment's preciousness, striving to capture the emotion of that time in its purest form.

Such a photo remains in the hearts of the people who become subjects. Looking back at her photos after a shoot, the joyful memories of that day vividly return to her heart. "If the person who became the subject smiles when they look at the photo later... that's the kind of photo I want to leave," she says, clearly imagining the warmth of the photos she wants to take.
A Photo Weaving 'Tender Glances'
The word 'tender glances' evokes various scenes.
The gentle eyes of the subject, landscapes taken in soft light, heartwarming scenes like a grandfather soothing a baby.

"Through photography, the heart of the person who took the photo is conveyed to the viewer," Kana says, capturing her interpretation of the theme 'tender glances'. Her focus when taking photos is to share the excitement and emotion she felt in as pure a form as possible.
"It's not about being good or bad, or the equipment used, but about conveying the photographer's gentle heart through the photo." She expresses her hope to encounter such a heart-touching photo through this photo contest.
