Sony announces the E-mount interchangeable lens 'FE 24-50mm F2.8 G' ahead of CP+2024. The release date is May 17, 2024. The price is open, with an expected market price of around 180,000 yen (including tax). It will be showcased for the first time in Japan at CP+2024.
This product covers a focal length from 24mm to 50mm, enabling creators to express themselves across a wide range of subjects and diverse scenes, whether in still images or videos, such as everyday snapshots, landscapes, and portraits.
Compact and Lightweight Design for Everyday Portability
Despite being a large aperture standard zoom lens compatible with 35mm full-frame, it is more compact and lightweight than the standard zoom lens 'FE 20-70mm F4 G' (length 99mm, weight 488g) with a total length of 92.3mm and weight of 440g.
High Imaging Performance Unique to G Lenses
By effectively arranging four aspherical lenses and two ED glasses, it reduces various aberrations such as chromatic aberration, achieving high resolution performance from the center to the periphery of the image. Features like an 11-blade circular aperture and optimized spherical aberration enable the beautiful and soft bokeh characteristic of G lenses.
AF Performance that Maximizes the Camera Body's Speed
With two optimized linear motors and advanced lens control, it achieves fast, precise, and highly responsive AF performance. It is designed to maximize the capabilities of the body, supporting high-speed continuous shooting of up to approximately 120 frames per second with the 'α9 III'.
