Sony Group Corporation has launched the web application 'EYE CONNECT' on January 17, 2024, allowing users to experience the views of space seen by the microsatellite 'EYE' operated by the 'STAR SPHERE' project.
Anyone can use it for free by registering an account. Additionally, they announced plans to recruit participants for a new service, 'Space Photography Experience', using 'EYE CONNECT', starting February 2024.
Web Application to Enjoy Space Views
'EYE CONNECT' is a web application that predicts the orbit of the satellite 'EYE' and allows users to experience actual space views. Users can connect with 'EYE' from their devices to experience space. The app also allows users to simulate operating the satellite by viewing 'EYE's position and camera angles. No specialized knowledge is required, making it easy to enjoy space experiences in everyday life.
Recruiting Participants for Space Photography Service
The 'EYE' space photography experience service allows users to simulate 'EYE's position using the 'EYE CONNECT' app and request photography from space. The photos taken are delivered to users, providing a valuable experience of the moment's expression of space or Earth, even with unexpected results due to weather conditions. The first experience is limited to 30 groups in March 2024, with recruitment starting on February 13, 2024. Additional participants will be recruited throughout 2024.
What is STAR SPHERE?
