Focus Workshop Co., Ltd. adds a new white color to the LIGHT LENS LAB M 35mm f/2 interchangeable lens for Leica M mount. The release date is January 13, 2024. The price is 218,000 yen (tax included). Limited to only 200 units worldwide, a portion of the sales will be donated to earthquake relief funds.
This product is a color variation model of the LIGHT LENS LAB M 35mm f/2, released in June 2021. Named after the founder and investor of LIGHT LENS LAB, Mr. Zhou, it is affectionately called 'Zhou Eight Elements' and has garnered attention. 50% of the sales will be donated to Ishikawa Prefecture as relief funds for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Reiwa 6.
Reproducing the optical performance of the Leica M mount lens 'Summicron 35mm f/2' (first generation), known as the 'Eight Elements', which was born in 1958. It uses materials close to the original lens, pursuing the reproduction of the original with coatings, barrel design, and focus ring fixation method at infinity. Differences from the original lens include the adoption of a brass barrel and the use of ruby for the lens mounting index.
