COSINA Co., Ltd. announces the wide-angle large aperture lens for Leica M, the 'NOKTON Vintage Line 28mm F1.5 Aspherical VM'. Scheduled for release in January 2024, the price is 137,500 yen for Type I and 154,000 yen for Type II (including tax).
Type I is available in matte black paint and silver, using aluminum material for the exterior of the barrel. The design of the operating parts is unified with a flat knurling, featuring a modern finish.
Type II uses brass material and is designed under the concept of 'evoking the famous lenses of the early 1960s', with the focus ring and anti-slip part at the base of the lens designed to resemble classic lenses. It is available in black paint and silver.
Type II includes a focusing knob, which can be attached to the screw hole of the focusing lever to enjoy a unique operational feel. A decorative screw (minus screw) is included to cover the screw hole when not using the focusing knob.
Both types can use the separately sold LH-6 (slit type) lens hood, and the filter diameter is 43mm. The lens configuration consists of 8 groups and 10 elements, including two double-sided aspherical lenses. The minimum shooting distance is 50cm, with a rangefinder coupling range of 0.7m to infinity. The aperture blades are 12, with an outer diameter of φ54×45.5mm. The weight is 250g for Type I and 330g for Type II. It is also designed with consideration for use with digital cameras, focusing on measures against color cast at the edges of the screen.
