The Alluring Analog Grain and Vivid Colors of 'HARMAN Phoenix 200' | HARMAN Photo
3i Corporation released HARMAN Photo's color negative film 'HARMAN Phoenix 200' on December 2, 2023. Priced at 2,585 yen (tax included).
As a 35mm color negative film with ISO 200 (36 exposures), it is the first color film ever manufactured entirely in HARMAN's own factory, from emulsion to cassette.
HARMAN's First Venture into Color Film
Just as the phoenix appears in mythology, the 'HARMAN Phoenix 200' was born as a new film symbolizing hope, rebirth, and transformation. As the company's first color film, it retains some artisanal qualities, but the sales of the film are aimed at improving formulation, coating capabilities, and color technology, with the vision of continually evolving HARMAN color film.
It features distinctive grain and vivid colors, expressing a unique analog feel when shooting in bright light. However, it is important to note that halation may occur under strong sunlight or backlight conditions. During shooting, metering in mid-tones is recommended to ensure capturing details in shadows and highlights.
Development processing is C-41. The cassette is equipped with a DX code and supports push/pull processing from ISO 100 to 400.
