On August 9, 2023, Focus Workshop Co., Ltd. released the Leica M mount interchangeable lens 'LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 SPII'. The selling price is 118,800 yen for silver, and 130,500 yen for black and vintage black (including tax).

Recreating the Cinematic Depiction that Swept Hollywood

The iconic 1940s cinema lens 'Cooke Speed Panchro Series II 50mm f/2' was highly acclaimed for its outstanding visual expression and was a big hit in Hollywood at the time. The 'LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 SPII' recreates this excellent depiction. It was developed to allow users to enjoy rich imagery easily with M-type Leica or mirrorless cameras equipped with a mount adapter.

Faithfully Reproducing and Incorporating Modern Design Elements

Based on the double Gauss structure, it adopts a single-coated specification using lanthanum flint glass. This faithfully reproduces the original optical performance, allowing users to enjoy unique depictions different from modern lenses.

Additionally, it features a unique twin-arm focus lever reminiscent of the original and a straight-line design exterior. The brass barrel with moderate weight is precisely machined, offering a sense of satisfaction just by handling it. The focus lever can also be replaced with the included pin type.
